Growing up in Southwestern Pennsylvania I was always involved in sports. During high school I played volleyball and basketball and ran track. While attending the University of Pittsburgh at Johnstown, I was a four year member of the Lady Cat Volleyball Team. In 2005 I graduated with a Bachelors of Science in Civil Engineering. Soon after college, I found myself with a desk job and gaining weight. I realized that no longer participating in sports created a void in my life.
In 2007, I started competing in figure competitions as a way to challenge myself. After my third competition in 2008 I ran my first 5k. I won my age group and my running career was born. Since then I have run several 5ks, half marathons and everything in between. After completing my first marathon in 2013, I started CrossFit as a way to improve my fitness.
In my spare time I enjoy reading, writing, drawing, painting, traveling, photography and gardening. You can also find me cheering for all three Pittsburgh sports teams: Steelers, Penguins and Pirates. I also am very devoted to my animal friends, including my cat, who is a rescue animal.
