My "before" picture
Yep, that‘s a picture of me on the left! Hard to believe but less than two years again I was unfit and unhappy. I had just made the transition from college athlete to a desk job in an office. The transition left me gaining weight and finding myself in the worse shape of my life. After taking my “before” pictures I decided I needed to make a change in my life to stop this downward spiral. I followed the well known program by Bill Phillips named, "Body For Life". I started to change my eating habits and doing cardio in the morning before work and lifting weights after work. I started experiencing weight loss with consistent workouts and clean eating. The results inspired me to keep going.
My "after" photo
In 2007 I decided I wanted more. I first saw women competing in Oxygen magazine and thought to myself, “I want to do that.” I had no idea where to begin, but I knew I wanted to get to the stage no matter what. I searched online for information on competing. Not really knowing what I was getting myself into, I stepped onto stage for the first time on June 16, 2007. I loved every minute of it! But I also realized how much I didn't know and what I needed help with. I hired a trainer, who I work with online, and prepared myself for another show. I competed again in October of 2007 with a body I never knew I was capable of obtaining. I competed again in May 2008, with what I consider to be my best body yet. I used to think that attaining a great physique was not possible for me. But now I am realizing that I can constantly improve myself and I believe I am only starting to scratch the surface of what I am capable of!
