Biography
Growing up in Southwestern Pennsylvania I was always involved in sports. During high school I played volleyball and basketball and ran track. While attending the University of Pittsburgh at Johnstown, I was a four year member of the Lady Cat Volleyball Team. In 2005 I graduated with a Bachelors of Science in Civil Engineering. Soon after college, I found myself with a desk job and gaining weight. I realized that no longer participating in sports created a void in my life.
In 2007, I started competing in figure competitions as a way to challenge myself. After my third competition in 2008 I ran my first 5k. I won my age group and my running career was born. Since then I have run several 5ks, half marathons and everything in between. After completing my first marathon in 2013, I started CrossFit as a way to improve my fitness. In 2017, I had my beloved son. He has renewed my passion for painting, drawing and writing. I'm also working hard to get back into (or close to) pre pregnancy shape!
In my spare time I enjoy reading, writing, drawing, painting, traveling, photography and gardening. You can also find me cheering for all three Pittsburgh sports teams: Steelers, Penguins and Pirates. I also am very devoted to my animal friends, including my cat, who is a rescue animal.
